Published:2010/9/2 10:57:00
On July 15th, Jennie Yeung and other BLDP representatives were invited to the Shanghai World Expo to attend the Daimler Sustainability Forum, organised by Daimler and CEIBS (China Europe International Business School). Daimler, a major German car corporation, held this conference, their first ever in China, at the UN Pavilion.
The topic of the forum was Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The development of clean energy powered cars still needs to be brought further, and it is the car manufacturer’s responsibility to lead the field of “sustainable cars”.
The forum was opened with speeches by Martin Jaeger, Daimler AG Vice President, Ulrich Walker, Chairman and CEO of Daimler North East Asia, Professor Rolf D. Cremer, CEIBS Dean and Vice President, and the UN Commissioner General of the Expo 2010, Awni Behnam.
The first part of the forum was centred on responsible governance and the definition of CSR. The key speakers invited for the event exposed their ideas related to the topic. Many issues related to CSR and the responsibility of companies in sustainability were covered, both on a global and national scale. A discussion was then held, with the audience asking questions.
The United Nations Pavilion has been the scene of the exposition new trends of developing sustainability at a corporate level.
